King David, at the dawn of his reign, had with his army at Hebron the sons of Issachar, men who understood their times and knew what Israel ought to do (1 Chr. 12:32). To this we too aspire: discern our own perilous times, convey our findings, exhort the people. Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, we fix our eyes on Him, setting our hearts on pilgrimage ... for here we have no continuing city but seek the one to come, whose builder and maker is the Almighty.
